UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency. The UNFPA Country Office in The Gambia is inviting applications for a Consultancy on The Prevalence of Obstetric Fistula in The Gambia.
The consultancy is expected to undertake the following tasks and activities:
- Review of SRH documents such as RMNCAH Policy, Health Policy, strategic Plans, and other related documents.
- To identify the socio-economic and cultural determinants of Obstetric Fistula in The Gambia
- To determine the prevalence and incidence of Obstetric Fistula cases in The Gambia
- Visit Health Facilities and hold discussions with service providers and beneficiaries regarding programmes and services.
- Map out current SRH programmes related to Obstetric Fistula and identify gaps and make recommendations for future interventions.
- Recommend remedial measures to address challenges faced by service providers with regards to Obstetric Fistula.
- Draft a report of assessment in English based on the outcome of assessment.
Qualifications and Experience:
The Consultant is responsible for collation of the draft reports, incorporation of the comments on the draft report and finalization and submission of the final report.
Qualification
- A Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, and Other related fields
- Good experience in consultancy work particularly in a similar field
- Knowledgeable about Sexual and Reproductive Health Issues
- Fluency in English and evidence of good report writing skills.
- Solid analytical and presentation skills.
