To mark International Women's Day 2020, the United Nations system in The Gambia through the UN Gender Technical Working Group Chaired by UNFPA, led a school outreach programme at the Greater Banjul Upper Basic School to discuss gender equality with students. The activity also entailed the male students taking up gender roles normally assigned to women and girls in their communities, including cooking, in order to dismantle stereotypes and challenge gender inequality.
