Under overall guidance of the Representative and direct supervision of the Assistant Representative, the Gender/Gender Based Violence Analyst will lead gender programming in the country programme. S/he will provide technical leadership, and contribute to advocacy in gender and sexual Gender Based Violence response.
The Programme Analyst Gender and GBV, draws special attention to the gender and human rights perspective of reproductive health in order to demonstrate how the cultural practice of female genital mutilation (FGM) reflects a deep-rooted inequality between the sexes, constituting an extreme form of discrimination against women.
S/he will work on strengthening of capacity of the Gender machinery to better coordinate Gender and GBV interventions including FGM activities.
